One Reading Central – Our New Offices!

One Reading Central is to be a showcase for Yell as a market leading new media company.  As well as a shared reception, there will be a Yell Welcome Centre located on the ground floor.  The design aspiration for the Yell Welcome Centre is a 'wow' factor, reflecting corporate image/brand values.  The design showcases Yell products, services and people.

The Yell Welcome Centre will follow a 'business lounge' model.  There will be an area of soft seating for waiting visitors.  Visitors will be able to sit and have informal meetings, access the internet, learn about the Yell history, products and services, make phones calls or work on laptops.  The Welcome Centre will also have a self service beverage area for visitors use.

There are three designated 'breakout' areas per typical office floor, furnished with soft seating and intended for informal meetings, quiet conversations, reading, using laptops and working away from a desk.  The break out areas will have drink/cafe facilities.

The objective for One Reading Central is to create an open plan working environment, to promote the free flow of information and ideas.  It will also encourage great team working and communication.

Each floor will have standard desk areas, which will be open plan.  Managers will sit close to their teams and near to informal meeting areas and/or one to one rooms.

Flexible Working to support flexible working, there will be three types of desks:

  • Fixed desks
  • Smart desks (hot desks)
  • Touch down areas such as small meeting rooms, break out, cafe and bench areas.
